(Misimagology)★

B?n-t?i is a collection of work in research and image experimentation which includes the pieces completed by artist G?o Tsong-t?i during their phase in graduate studies (2022-2025).
The pieces involve awareness of the issue "how are images viewed and explained " through exploring systems such as AI, humans, and different cultural backgrounds and the understanding and misinterpretation generated when given images.
Through techniques such as imitation, d?j? vu, and weakening image information, G?o Tsong-t?i's images teeter between "likeness" and "unlikeness", challenging the image recognition mechanisms of systems.
Who are these images interpreted as? Are they established images projected from reference data that cause the subject in front of the audience to be confused with past models? Or are they characters set under a publishing strategy that forces the audience to search for a specific identity within the image?
B?n-t?i attempts to destabilize the stable relationship between viewing and interpreting, allowing each image to become the site of a system misrecognition, and questions proposed during appr |

Born in 1997, currently resides in Taichung. Their works focus on the fluidity of gender and identity in the language of Gen Z; G?o's pieces often toe the line between conceptual art, installation art, and social practices, using creative mediums such as social media, ACG doujin culture, and Gen Z values. They blurs the boundaries of artists being viewed as one-dimensional creators.
In 2023, they gained international recognition through their piece B?n-t?i, which was nominated as one of the 30 exceptional Asian graduate candidates of the inaugural Hong Kong Art Future Awards. Their works can be found in Taiwan, China, the Netherlands, Australia, and Japan.
