The Postbehavioral Revolution in American Political Science_ is a study of the issues arising from David Easton's intellectual structure constructed for describing, explaining, prescribing and predicting the 'revolution.' The author first interprets the structure and then analyzes various challenges, major or minor, to the structure or its parts. Finally he defends the structure by means of Easton's own defence and of a variety of support, direct or indirect, explicit or implicit, and witting or unwitting, of the structure or its parts. The author concludes the study to the effect that Easton's structure remains intact despite the challenges it faces and that the intact structure, contributing to our understanding of the current meaning of, and prospective significance for, the postbehavioral revolution in American political science, can be regarded as an asset rather than a liability of American political science. ? |
